Mitsubishi ASX Safety

We've been at the forefront of vehicle technology from the moment we began making cars over 100 years ago. Today, all our cars are fitted with intelligent systems that support safer driving and protect you and your passengers.

Active Stability Control with Traction Control

Safer in all weather conditions

If sensors located throughout the car detect unstable movement, such as lateral slippage, the Stability Control function automatically controls the brakes and engine output to stabilise the car.  If the sensors detect wheel slip when starting on slick surfaces, such as a snow-covered road, the Traction Control function automatically brakes the slipping wheel and governs engine output to enable a smoother start.

Lane Change Assist (LCA)

Change lanes with ease

Lane Change Assist starts when the turn signal is active on the side where there is another vehicle running alongside, the door mirror indicator blinks and the driver is alerted with beeps to help him or her avoid the vehicle during a lane change.

RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) Body

Designed to protect you

The ASX is built using our advanced Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution body. It strategically places reinforcements at critical points to help route and absorb energy in the event of a high impact collision. So you and your passengers are kept safe when you need it most.

Blind Spot Warning (BSW)

No more blind spots

This feature uses radar sensors to detect whether there are vehicles in your blind spots. If you're about to change lanes, a light will blink in the door mirror on the side nearest to the hazard and a buzzer will sound.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

Reversing with confidence

If sensors in the rear bumper detect an approaching vehicle, when you put the car into reverse, a warning message appears in the Multi-Information Display. A buzzer sounds and an indicator blinks in both door mirrors, too.

ABS with EBD

Keeping you in control under braking

Lateral slippage can easily occur if the rear wheels lock up due to braking hard on slippery surfaces or braking hard when at high speeds. ABS suppresses this by controlling the brakes' hydraulic pressure. EBD adjusts the rear wheels’ braking force to the number of occupants and load to deliver braking force that is ideally matched to almost any situation.

Emergency Stop Signals (ESS)

Making others aware sooner

ESS (Emergency Stop signal System) reduces the possibility of rear end collisions during sudden braking by the rapid and automatic blinking of the hazard warning lamps to alert vehicles approaching from behind.

Protection for everyone in the car

7 SRS Airbag System

To keep you and your passengers safe in the event of a collision, the ASX is equipped with a 7-airbag system. There's even a knee airbag for the driver in the event of a forward collision.

Easy starts on hills

Hill Start Assist (HSA)

If you're starting on a steep slope, Hill Start Assist makes it really easy by keeping the brake on for up to two seconds, until you press the accelerator. So you never need to worry about rolling back again.

Manoeuvre with ease

Rear Parking Camera

It’s easy to park with a reversing camera. Put the ASX in reverse and the interior monitor shows you a high definition view of behind — guiding you into even the tightest of parking spaces.
