Shogun Sport Safety

The Shogun Sport is a safe space for you and your family whether you’re on or off-road. Advanced sensors improve traction and stability and there are better braking systems, and collision avoidance technologies.

Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS)

Parking made easier

To help prevent collisions while parking, a buzzer sounds and a warning displays if the front or rear sensors detect a nearby obstacle. Acceleration is also controlled if you suddenly put your foot down by accident.
Forward Collision Mitigation System (FCM)

Forward Collision Mitigation System (FCM)

Safer in the event of a collision

With a combination of cameras and laser radar, the FCM System will judge your distance and speed in comparison to the vehicle ahead. If the system detects a danger of collision, it sounds a warning and automatically slows your vehicle down.

Adaptive Cruise Control System (ACC)

Helping you keep a safe distance

This system uses a radar to keep a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front. If the vehicle in front is too close, slowing down or stopping, the ACC will automatically slow or stop your own vehicle. It offers greater safety and peace of mind especially in stop/start traffic.

Blind Spot Warning (BSW)

No more blind spots

This feature uses radar sensors to detect whether there are vehicles in your blind spots. If you're about to change lanes and the system detects that something is there, a light will blink in the door mirror on the side nearest to the hazard and a buzzer will sound.

Hill Descent Control

Maintain your speed going downhill

Use the mode selector to activate Hill Descent Control. This will automatically apply the brakes when you're travelling downhill between 1mph and 12mph. It's a safer way to help you maintain your current speed and it means you can focus on your driving without having to manually apply the brakes. *

Active Stability Control (ASC)

If you have a wobble, the car won’t

The Active Stability Control system uses onboard sensors to analyse the vehicle’s motion and identify any unstable movement. By automatically adjusting engine output and applying braking power to the appropriate wheels, ASC helps to maintain stability and control. The Traction Control function applies a braking force to the spinning wheels for smooth starts and straight line acceleration.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

If you drift, the car will tell you

This smart feature will create a beep and display a warning on the dash to let you know if your vehicle has drifted from its lane and you're not using your indicators.

Hill Start Assist (HSA)

No rolling backwards on hills

When starting off on a steep uphill slope, Hill Start Assist helps to prevent you from rolling backward by maintaining the brake for up to two seconds until the accelerator is applied.

ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)

A braking system for the braking system

Our Anti-Lock Braking System prevents the wheels from locking up during emergency braking. As well as ABS, the Shogun Sport has Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. This system automatically distributes the braking force to all four wheels to enhance braking performance.

Emergency Stop Signal System (ESS)

Automatic hazard lights

The Emergency Stop Signal System reduces the possibility of rear-end collisions, by automatically turning on the hazard lights during sudden braking to alert the motorists behind you.

Trailer Stability Assist (TSA)

Towing with confidence

Trailer Stability Assist increases your stability when towing. If any swaying motion on the vehicle is detected, the system automatically controls engine power and the braking force to each wheel to stabilise both the vehicle and your trailer.

(SRS) Seven Airbag System

Protection for everyone in the car

To keep you and your passengers safe in the event of a collision, the Shogun Sport is equipped with a 7-airbag system. The front seat occupants are protected by front airbags, plus an additional knee airbag for the driver in the event of a forward collision. In a side collision, the front occupants are protected by side airbags and occupants in both rows are protected by curtain airbags extending along the sides.
