Profiles of New Graduates
During my placement year in 2016-17 my role was very varied and allowed me to put to use what I had already learnt in my degree. It also allowed me to have an insight into the automotive industry and made me realise it was an industry I enjoyed and would like to continue working in. After completing my placement year I was delighted to be offered a place on the Graduate scheme. The Graduate scheme here at Mitsubishi Motors in the UK allows me to develop an extensive understanding of the many departments as the programme is to spend 6 months working on different projects around the business. This allows me to be exposed to a wide array of areas within the business which will help me find a role or an area of the business I wish to work in after my two year Graduate scheme is complete.
I studied Business and Management at the University of Reading and as part of my course I had the ability to undertake a placement year. I have a strong interest in the automotive industry, so when it came to my placement year, I knew I wanted to work for a company that gave me the experience of a variety of perspectives on the UK car market. I was attracted to Mitsubishi Motors in the UK as it is one of the fastest growing automotive brands and at the forefront of new technologies within the industry. On my Undergraduate placement year I had the opportunity to work on various projects within the Sales Operations department which provided me with vital experience. After completing my placement, I was fortunate enough to be offered a place on Mitsubishi Motor’s Graduate scheme. The scheme is the natural step up from a placement, focusing on four key business projects across two years which find me working across all facets of the business. These have provided their own challenges to overcome, but have developed my knowledge and skills far greater than I could have thought possible in a small time period.
