The Mitsubishi Shogun (1991)
The first-generation Shogun had been hugely successful as a 4WD with all-terrain capabilities. This new version was available in four body types, powered by uprated 3.0L, V6 and 2.5L engines.
It also saw the introduction of Super Select 4WD, a system that allowed the driver to seamlessly switch between 2WD and 4WD while on the move at speeds up to 100km/h.
Super Select 4WD offered better traction and stability and meant the driver had more control depending on the road conditions. Multi-mode ABS was added which responded to all the Super Select 4WD modes.
